California High School Speech Association Announces Location and Dates for the 66th Annual State Championship

Culver City, CA, August 31, 2024 — The California High School Speech Association (CHSSA) is pleased to announce that the 66th Annual State Speech and Debate Championship will take place at Culver City High School from May 2-4, 2025. This prestigious event, hosted in collaboration with the Western Bay Forensic League (WBFL) and CHSSA Area 3, is expected to attract thousands of high school competitors, coaches, and judges from across the state.

“We are thrilled to bring the State Championship to Culver City High School,” said Angelique Ronald, Tournament Director of the CHSSA. “This event is a celebration of the talent, dedication, and hard work of California’s top speech and debate students. We are excited to host this championship in the vibrant setting of Los Angeles and look forward to a weekend filled with outstanding performances and spirited competition.”

The 2025 championship is more than just a tournament; it embodies the transformative power of speech and debate to empower students of today to become tomorrow’s advocates and leaders. Through rigorous competition and constructive discourse, students develop critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills that are essential for success in their future endeavors.

CHSSA is proud to partner with Culver City High School and their coach, Dan Carter, as well as the Culver City Unified School District and their Superintendent, Dr. Brian Lucas, whose support and collaboration are invaluable to making this event a success.
